Long Description
This is a sewing maching that my mother purchased over 30 years ago. The patent on it states 1901-1903. It also states a serial type # on it and it is C3715518. I do not know much about antiques but I am looking to get rid of this. Was just looking for what a fair price would be,
For Sale?

Re: 1901-1903 Antique Sewing Machine (C3715518)
This looks very similar to one that I have. Do you know what the brand is? Â There is generally a name across the front bar. Â I'd love to get any information as I have not been able to find it on mine. Â I have a Model W with a serial number W4286453. Â My booklet just has model number but no manufacturer.

Singer made tens of millions of these treadle machines, we have trouble getting $150.00 for them these days in the shop.

Mine is not a Singer. Â It's called an Improved Chautauqua. Â Trying to determine who made it.

The table and stand appear to be in really good shape - that's where your money is. Â I'm no expert, but there aren't many sewing machine collectors and people don't want to sew on an old sewing machine. Â So, you might consider converting the table and stand into a side table.

That's a good idea.  The table is  made of oak and very sturdy.  I appreciate the idea.
