Long Description
I don't know much about this old box. all of the hardware is screwed on with slotted screws and nuts and the lock hardware is cast brass (not sure about the hinges and corner plates) a plywood lid and solid wood sides, there are three slots cut into the sides on the inside, 2 of which have boards in them which appear to be replacements as the color of paint on the wood doesn't match, but they do look aged, In at a complete loss to find anything similar in all my searches, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
History
I picked up the box from an elderly couple who were retired antique dealers, they didn't know anything about the box, nor did they remember where they had gotten it but said it was likely acquired by them 50+ years ago.

Re: Antique Military gun crate?
One possible clue to the age might be the color. Olive drab green wasn't introduced until WWII, or at least not the term 'olive drab' however I have seen similar colors on older military items, whether as a result of repainting or not I'm unsure. Again, any information at all about this box would be greatly appreciated!

I guess even the instappraisal expert appraisers can't help with this one. Thanks anyway to all who looked at it!
