Ā Painting is Oil on canvas; framed. Ā Painting is a historical piece documented in William Wharton's novel "Scumbler." Ā It's in Perfect condition and quite striking. Ā I was going to buy it before I even saw the signature. Ā
History
I bought this painting at an estate sale. I recognized the name and then realized that it was a painting that is described in detail in one of my favorite William Wharton novels "Scumbler." The painting is of "Sweik's" apartment in Paris, described in chapter 4 and 5. "Today I begin my painting of Sweik's place . . ."
