My grandmother was really active in the Democratic party and she took home video footage of JFK when he visited our state(Wa) way back when.As a family video this has never been seen by the public and obviously would be interested in knowing the collectability of such footage.

Hard to say, film collectors are a very specialized small group. The only way to find out would be to auction the film at a well advertised sale of Kennedy memorabilia.

Or if your interested in quick cash, try a newstation. They pay big bucks for stuff others don't have. I have seen my local news pay 6grand for a home video of reagon's. Just remember once you sell it or get it out on the air, thats it. Ive seen people have never before seen footage, sell it then it gets posted on youtube and copys are made.

Generally, anything related to the Kennedys has value. There are collectors or Kennedy memorabilia, film collectors, historians, the Kennedy family itself, historical collectors and even museums.
It largely depends on the content and quality of the film. The better it is, with closeups of the Kennedys, etc., the more desireable it is.
I suggest that if you show it to someone interested, make sure there is no way for them to copy it. Dont let it out of your sight.
Find a local curator, or contact the Kennedy library or similar parties who can expertly direct you on what to do. You have a piece of history. Treat it well.
