I can't find anything online anywhere about a number #43 on a cast iron wash pot. This pot has 2 handles on either side and 3 legs. I got it from a little old man who was selling it on the side of the road about 5 years ago. He had alot of old cast iron items. I believe that it is perfectly legit and not a reproduction but I dont' understand the numbers ??? Any ideas about these numbers and do they represent anything specific?

Cast iron pots were generic items, the numbers are simply mold/model numbers. Without a label or markingĀ it's unlikely it could be linked to any maker.

the numbers on them useually tell you who in the factory made it,when and what day it was made and how many were made that day,at least thats how it works with antique blue ball mason jars, hope this helps if not try ask.com
