Kimberly, I am answering your question in detail here [about how long] to also help others with same question, not because I think you didn't already do these things! So don't be insulted please.
There are a number of factors at play, so it could take soom time.
1] Someone with knowledge in your item has to sign in at a time when your Question is near the top, or they won't see it.
2] Then they evaluate if it is worth answering; Have you posed a question in your request for example? Some list most/all about thier item leaving little more to say [probably just selling it.]
3] Another big error in posting is not doing a search [top right corner of home page] for item/similar item. We are human and get tired of answering the same item over and over. Common pocket watches are an example, they are regularly posted. So unless it's something special that's not been 'answered to death' earlier, it is likely not going to be answered.
4] Then the responder has to have time to research it. Remember they are doing it for free for you, so they must have a 'day job,' and likely family, that will take priority over your item.
5] Missing detaiils in item also frustrates responders. We need something to work from and its surprising how many sumbissions are incomplete. Post GOOD photos at least one over-all and close ups of all joints/markings etc. If you have additional info [ie bought in Paris], say so we don't need to know personal details like credit card used, but knowing it was purchased at a high end glass shop in the 30's in France significantly reduces our research efforts and time. Besides why have us answer what you already know?
So be patient.
Make sure you have searched the site first for similar items.
Make sure you have asked or indicated what you want to know.
Make sure you have included all the info you can.
Bubble your item back to the top once in a while by adding a comment to it.
If you ask a new question like you did here, remember that it bumps other questions down, including yours, making them harder to find/see. So if you do, at least mention the title of the original request so that we can easily find it and know which one you are talking about.

Hope this explains what is happening!
