I have owned this dining room set for over thirty years. I purchased it at a home sale of an elderly couple who had both passed in the late 70’s. Their children said they had the set for a long time, but I am not sure how old it actually is, my guess would be from the 40's or early 50's. I have scoured the internet looking for a Myrtle Furniture company and only found a Myrtle Desk Co. so I am not sure what to make of this. I can’t seem to find a Myrtle Company who would of made this set.
The dining room set consists of 7 side chairs, a captain’s chair, a china cabinet, a buffet and a large wood table. It appears to be made of wood veneers, maybe mahogany. On the back of the items is stenciled 760 Myrtle. The table was badly damaged and we had the two ends of the table cut off and attached together and refinished to make a pedestal for a glass top. The rest of the set has never been refinished, it's all original.
I have attached photos of the set and some of the details. The set is in very good condition and we have re-upholstered the seats several times over the years.
I would like to sell the set but do not know where to turn for an appraisal or to sell. Could anyone help identify the manufacturer and any history about the company would be helpful.
