This was acquired in Japan in 1945. It was claimed to be an antique at the time.
It has a large storage area on top with two sliding panels that enclose it. the panels both have extensive designs as well as an abundance of in-laid mother-of-pearl. In the lower right, it has a second storage area that is enclosed with a swinging door. The door is made of some type of wood with an intricate design carved into it. The bottom has three drawers, each of which is faced with more design similar to the sliding doors on top and each with mother-of-pearl accents. Both sides include more design panels similar to those on the sliding doors.
The pictures show the front, the right side, a close-up of one of the top sliding panels, and a close-up of the bottom door.
