This piees is based on work by JEAN-PAUL AUBE (French. 1837-1916). A lot of these are actually Spelter with a bronzed finish, you'll have to have it checked out to see if it is indeed bronze. You can usually tell by removing the base, and scratching the underside of the figure with a nail file, Spelter will show up as a silvery streak beneath the bronze color. If it is bronze, at auction these often go for over $1000.00
