The numbers are 110195110, as far as I can make out, and the is the letter c below the numbers. there is a box with leters but I can't make them out. It appears to be tarnished real bad but it dos not say silver plated. Would you have any informtion on whether this bowl is silver or iron or what. Thanks.

I would suggest taking a photo of the hallmark and then we can probably figure it out. To know for sure you can test it with nitric acid. Just put one drop on back of your piece: green color= copper, brass or nickel silver; cream color=silver or silver alloy. There are silver test kits which you can purchase. I still suggest going from the hallmark first so you don't damage your piece even with a small test.
