Your Rocker is in the Colonial Revival Style. Colonial Revival pieces are reproductions of American Colonial items originally produced from 1620-1780. The Colonial Revival style first became popular after the first Centennial of the American Revolution in 1876, but pieces like this were made right up until World War Two (1939). At that time interest and demand for original Colonial & Federal furnishings was so great it outstripped supply. Large manufacturers to begin production of pieces in the Colonial style from the Jacobean to early Georgian periods
The style last peaked in popularity in the 1990's, but demand for it and values have been in steep decline since that time. Currently at auction comparable chairs in very good condition often sell for under $100.00.
