Long Description
I am not quite certain what this is or what exactly to call it. Â It was described to be a salemans sample chest at the auction I purchased it from. Â It is quite old and measures 8-1/2" wide, 9-1/4" tall and is 4-1/4" deep. Â The lid/seat opens to reveal a chest. Â The lid can be locked and the skeleton key is included. Â The lid has brass hinges. Â As you can see, the exterior is quite ornate with different inlaid designs. Â The chest has four feet two of which are intricately carved four toe animal feet. Â The wood appears to be walnut~ Â Any information as to what this is and its value would be appreciated~
