I have a tin tobacco box. I am unsure of the age as I can't find a date on it. The box is an Allen & Ginter's Richmond Gem Curly Cut. It ssays it was manufactured by Allen Ginter in Richmond Virginia. It does says something about awarded Philadelphia 1876. On the bottom of the box is a stamp that reads New York China CO Tin Cans.
Some type of metal the inside looks like brass but a couple of the scratches reveal a tin or aluminum.
It is award winning with the date of 1876. Allen Ginter Signature on top of box.
I don't know the date of the tin box. The only date on it is something about 1876.
Size and dimensions of this item:
2 1/4 high and 4 1/2 across and 3 3/8 deep
This was handed down to me from my grandmother. I don't know where she got it or how long she had it for.
