I am wondering this as well, I posted 2 items weeks ago no comment yet. I think it may be up to people who view it to say if they know the value??? its all a mystery.
This question comes up about once a week on the forum and has been answered quite a few times. There are a number of reasons your request might not be answered:
1. The item is not suitable for a online valuation, some things really need a physical examination.
2. The images are not clear enough to determine things about the piece that indicate it's vintage or maker.
3. Similar items have been appraised about once a week and nobody wants to cover it again.
4.Nobody who knows anything about your item has viewed it on the first page of this site. If you post an item for an appraisal it's only on the first page for about a a day.
5. The information provided is lacking enough detail, eg. pictures of pottery, but no mention or images of company markings.
And the list goes on.... One can also look in the archives, just about anything one would find in the antiques business has been posted here at one time or another. If you get no response to your request, check the archive for a similar item or simply repost youre original request with "Second Request" in the subject line. It's free and only takes a few minutes.

Check in the archives under your username. The archive search box is on the upper left corner of the main page under the heading
"Search Our Huge Database of Appraisals"
Lovejoy Says
"For quick answers use the search box at the top of the page. Thousands of items, maybe identical to yours have already appraised"
