Long Description and Pictures (jpg, gif, png)

My husband and I received them from his mother. She and her husband bought out an auction company in the 50's in North Carolina and these were in the contents. They had them appraised in the 70's and were told that they were worth about 1000 each. They do tell a story, but I don't know what it means.

Can't tell much from the images, but they could be Cinnabar Lacquer rather than teak.  In which case you really need to have them properly appraised as they sell any where from $300.00- $5000.00.

I looked online, and found some other teak wood vases, Chinese of course, and yours seem very original, very distinct.  They definitely tell a story, but I think you should try to pin down any symbols or etchings you can find that might indicate what time period they are from.  They are definitely old, and definitely worth a bundle.
