Recently we've been receiving some comments from customers that they are receiving too many appraisal emails. The reason for this is because at some point they have subscribed to receive e-mail notifications to their accounts. Typically someone has subscribed to receive notification of ALL appraisal requests and are then surprised at the volume of emails that they are receiving.

This is quite easy to resolve. All you have to do is go into Your Account by selecting "My account" on the left side of any page. After you go to your account you'll see a tab titled "Subscriptions." From this tab you can select the type of content that you are receiving notifications or would like to receive notifications for. Typically the "Subscriptions" tab has "Pages", "Blogs", "Content types", and "Categories" as choices. You can see what you have subscribed to by clicking on the "Overview" tab. To change your subscriptions simply go into the applicable subscription type (e.g. "Content types") and change your notification settings. Sometimes people accidentally choose to subscribe to "Content types" "appraisal" which means that they would receive an email notification for each and every new appraisal put into the system. Please be aware that this will result in a lot of emails.

It often makes the most sense to receive a Subscription to ONLY content types that you care about. This is actually automatically done for you in the system. When you enter in a new post or a new appraisal request then you will receive update notification when there is an update or a reply.

If you've put an appraisal request into the system you can always subscribe or unsubscribe (at the bottom of your appraisal request) to receive notifications when your appraisal has been updated. This means that if someone responds to your appraisal request with a comment then you will be notified via email. To Subscribe to ONLY your appraisal request, select the "Subscriptions" tab at the bottom of your appraisal request and choose "Subscribe to this page." This will notify you when only your appraisal request is updated. Do not click on the subscribe to "Appraisal content" unless you want to subscribe to ALL appraisal content - this means all appraisals put into the system, not just yours.

You can also Subscribe to other people's appraisal requests, posts, or any content on Instappraisal. Simply click on the post and do exactly as described above. You can even choose to subscribe to any content which has been entered by another specific user if you so choose. This is useful if there's another member on the system whose posts you'd like to follow. If you need any further help on how to use Subscriptions you can contact support at any time.
