I was just looking through and found that oil paintings cannot be appraised,  I have an old photo I found in Tennessee that is on cloth.  Anyway, started wondering if I will get an appraisal for it.  Does anyone know?  Also, does this site help people find an appraisal near your area if they can't do it.  I was thinking of have the photo restored if it was worth anything at all.

i have put all my info down plus photo (pottery jugs) and nothing has been forthcoming, would really love some help on these. thank you

Old paintings are really not suitable candidates for appraisal from images, I suggest you contact sothebys.com or the American Society of Appraisers http://www.appraisers.org/

You can post a photo of it and see if anyone can appraise it.
