i have one simular with the pat number 1471026 and im trying to get it appraised.
I was advised on another site that not all porcelain allows light to shine through. ;(
I thank you kindly for your reply. It is definitely a piece that needs the right home. I always had it in my entryway.
The vase does not appear to be porcelain. No light shone through.
Thanks, Anna
Please Help! I am desparate for information!! Thanks! Elizabeth
This is a fairly common (10 million minted) 1859 canadian cent in EF or so condition. It's probably worth $15 to $20 unless you can see a double-punched "9" in the date.
That is actually a Type II (I think) three cent silver from the looks of it. They were made from 1854-58. It might get $5 or $10 to someone building a cheap type set.
This is a common silver dollar worth about $25 to $30 right now or $5 over spot silver.
The market peaked for "Games Room" type stuff in the 1990's and has been in decline since then.
Here is a link for you to give you an idea of the current market:

These were popular wedding gifts just after World War Two, my mother had an identicle lamp as one of her gifts ;~). we sell lamps like this rewired for less than $150.00.
