Long Description
Hi there, does anyone know what era this Noritake dish is from?
It was my Grandmother's and I know it is very old but not sure of much more. In really nice condition, not a chip or scratch on it. It has a 3D effect (?) as the painting of a swallow on the dish itself is mirrored by an actual figurine on the rim of the dish.
So if anyone can give me an appraisal and/or timeframe on this ite that would be great! I'd also like to know what the original purpose of this dish might have been?
Thanks for your time!

Re: Noritake swallow dish
This mark is a Komaru mark. There were three. Yours is the newest of the three. This mark dates from 1911 to 1921, so your piece was made in between that time period. They were used to eat off of, because at the time, people were not aware that the lead in the paint was poisonous. Yours was probably used as a fruit dish or candy dish.
