Accurate Description of Item
One Drawing of an Old Man. Mixed Media Signed "Dali"
Appraiser Remarks
The problem I see with the previous appraisal is the wording of it, if it was indeed an original by Salvidor Dali it would have been stated it was by Dali, a date range of when it was completed would have been provided and some biography of the Artist himself and not just "Signed Dali". All this previous appraisal says is that it was signed "Dali", it makes no claims at all as to its authenticity.
Towards the end of Dali's life he signed huge numbers of blank sheets, which were used to produce drawings and prints in the "Style Of Dali" . Such pieces really need a physical appraisal to determine their authenticity, otherwise they tend to be offered as "Attributed to Dali", meaning that it appears to be of the period and may be wholly or partly by the ascribed artist but that neither the auction house/gallery nor the consignor guarantees this attribution. The value below is for one Attributed to Salvador Gali
