Long Description
Hello, This item is two inches tall with the word sterling on the bottom of the outside rim. The hallmark or signature is on the inside of the base but is not clear to me. I am curious what this was used for and if anyone can identify its use. I greatly appreciate the feedback at instappraisal.
History
This like my previous request came from my great grandparents home in Westchester County, N.Y. Some items from their home date back to previous generations, so I am guessing it may be mid 19th century. Thank you.

Re: Sterling Silver 2" container (looks like a trophy)
What you have is a trophy/lovingcup, generally they would be engraved with the winners name, the event and date. Cups of this size in Sterling silver generally sell for under $50.00
Re: Sterling Silver 2" container (looks like a trophy)
Thank you for the information. I was thinking toothpicks. Geez. It is a far more romantic item. I am grateful for your comment. I will think about selling it on instappraisal.
