Jean-François Millet (October 4, 1814 – January 20, 1875) was a French painter and one of the founders of the Barbizon school in rural France. Millet is noted for his scenes of peasant farmers, he can be categorized as part of the Realism art movement in France.
This particular piece is "After Millet", but more in the style of Vincent Van Gogh, but does not match any work we have listed by him. It was not uncommon for art students to copy the work of famous artists, their work often reproduced both during their life time and after their death, such as etchings, serigraphs and lithograph prints.
