Accurate Description of Item
One Turn of the 19th Century Figural Group of the Three Graces, Spelter or possibly bronze, unmarked
Appraiser Remarks
It's hard to tell from the images if these are actually bronze, they look more like spelter. Figural groups with three women like this tend to be of the "Three Graces", Euphrosyne, Aglaea and Thalia - who were said to represent beauty, charm and joy. The Graces presided over banquets and gatherings primarily to entertain and delight the guests of the gods. As such they have always proved to be attractive figures for historical artists, notable amongst them are Botticelli and Thorvaldsen.
Values for them depend a great deal on the sculptor, size and vintage, the markings are generally located on the top or side of the base. Unmarked examples tend to sell for less than $600.00
