Accurate Description of Item
One Mid Century Upholstered Armchair, maple construction with a fruitwood finish
Appraiser Remarks
Chairs like this tend to date from the late 1930's, but remained in production with few changes into the 1950's. This one most likely originally had a fabric rather than Naugahyde upholstery. Values for them at auction are very close to what you paid for yours, in the $30.00-60.00 range. Currently upholstered furniture like this is hard to sell, particularly if it's in Naugahyde. There is an oversupply of it available in the secondary market due to the downsizing of the Baby Boom generation which has been depressing values. We often retail chairs like this for less than $150.00
Estimated Value
$145.00
