Your print is based on a original oil painting by Sir Thomas Lawrence PRA FRS (13 April 1769 – 7 January 1830) . Lawrence was a leading English portrait painter and president of the Royal Academy. The subject of the original painting, Charles Wilson Lambton (1818-1831) was the son of John George Lambton M.P. and later Earl of Durham, his portrait by Thomas Lawrence was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1825 and is considered one of Sir Thomas Lawrence's most iconic images.
