Appraiser Remarks
Cabinets like this used to be rarly seen, unless one had a relation stationed in Hong Kong or a member of the Merchant Marine, but have been imported in huge numbers from China since the 1980's. Very few of them predate the late 1800's, many are reconstructions made for the export market from old lumber/furniture and are exempt from export restrictions on Chinese Antiques. Values depend a great deal on condition, as they do tend to suffer from warping and cracking of panels due to North American seasonal changes in humidity and central heating.
Estimated Value
$750.00- $1100.00
