Accurate Description of Item
One Baccarat Ybry 'Woman of Paris', 1925 Perfume bottle in reddish pink, missing its rectangular outer cap. The inner cap, colorless crystal intact.
Appraiser Remarks
Ybry perfumes were advertised as being "the most expensive in the world". Ybry was a luxury perfume house which founded in 1925 by Simon Jaroslawski (also known as Simon A. Jaroslawski-Fioret) the company went into liquidation in 1932. Jaroslawki also owned other two perfumery companies, Fioret and Mÿon.
The larger bottles are more are more valuable than the smaller versions and considerably rarer, the last one we have a record of sale for was complete with its square cap. It was sold by Christie's auctions Sale 1000 —Les Collections du Château de Gourdon, 29 - 31 March 2011 for $19,524, surpassing its sales estimate of $5400.00- $8000.00 by a considerable margin. The smaller bottles generally sell at auction for less than $500.00. The fact yours is missing its decorative cap will effect its value, how much amounts to an educated guess at best and depends on the sales venue and number of informed buyers. Our best reccomendation is to list it for sale in a well advertised auction sale of vintage perfume bottles by a large auction house such as Sotheby's or Christie's with a reserve price of about $5000.00.
