Accurate Description of Item
One Pair Of Late 19th Century Bohemian Portrait Glass Vases, in the style of Moser.
Appraiser Remarks
Vases like this are called "Bohemian Glass", getting its name from it main place of production, Eastern Europe and Bohemia in particular. Bohemia was one of the most prolific manufacturing centers, once an independent nation and now part of the Czech Republic. Bohemian glass makers were known not only for the quality and afford ability of their products, but for being in tune with what different markets around the world were interested in. The portrait vases are often attributed to the Moser glassworks, but without a label or marking there is no way to guarantee who the maker was. In the case of this pair it is our opinion the quality of the portrait is below what one would find on Moser examples
