Purchased by my wife's grandmother when she was in China.
Long Description and Pictures (jpg, gif, png):
Very nice Chinese porcelain vase. Have been told it is eggshell. Hand painted and very pretty. I believe it is the artist signature on the side. It can be seen in one of the pictures. I also included a picture of the mark on the bottom of the vase.

Told that is from early 1900s

History:
Given to me - not sure of history
Long Description and Pictures (jpg, gif, png):
Iridescent purple glass vase covered with an all over pulled thread design in silver (the silver appears gold depending on how the light is shown). The bottom does not appear to have a makers mark and there is a ground and polished pintel that appears as a concave oval shape area about a 1/2" long. In the picture, this is where the colored bead is ground through and clear.
The vase is slightly opaque with the covered glass being a light purple glass with what appears to be full of tiny bubbles or crackles.
Any information would be helpful.

Distinguishing marks or signature (e.g. artist's name, silver hallmark):
printed Edge Malkin & Co, Burslem, Perth Spray on base
Date Period (Estimated date of item if known):
Size and dimensions of this item:
Height 5 inches, 3.5 inches across the rim
History:
Believe they belonged to my grandmother - but they may have been my mother's
Long Description and Pictures (jpg, gif, png):
I have 2 vases which stand 5 inches high. They are a blue and white design. Working from the base upwards the design appears to be mainly blue with leaves and flowers in a geometric design, topped by "stars" in a geometric design, then dark blue toppped by a thin circlet of gold. Above this gold line to the base of the lip is a design of what looks like fine tree branches with blossoms & leaves in blue against a whiteish background. These are stippled with gold. The rim is a paler blue and is also stippled with gold. Inside the vases are ivory in clour and have some crazing. The base of the vases have a printed mark: what looks to be a greyhound sitting above the word "trade mark", underneath that is a ribbon with the words "Edge Malkin & Co", underneath that is "Burslem" then under that "Perth Spray". There also looks to be a circle with 4 nodes pointing outwards and a "c" inside. Also on the base, 1 Vase has "41" in gold and a printed "2". The second vase has a "41" and a "5" in gold. The printed mark on the base is not terribly clear. I have no idea whether these are genuine Edge Malkin or their value. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
