Long Description:

This lovely piece has been in my immediate family since it was new.  It still has the strong scent of cedar as it has not been opened very frequently.  The green felt on the shelf is in great condition.  It has four inlaid lighter vertical cedar stripes on the front and two long horizonal strips on the curved edge at the top and carved bottom.  It has a couple of dings and scratches as it has been moved several times, but is in very good condition overall.  It has all original parts and hardware including the Lane push-button lock on the front, but I have lost the key unfortunately.  The wood grain and shine (original) on this particular 61-year old piece are extraordinarily beautiful.

Long Description:

This is a 1963 Lane Cedar Chest. ( serial # 460250 ) It is in far condition on the outside and excellent condition on the inside. To me, it looks like a French style lane cedar chest with short French legs. I bought it at a thrift store with intentions on refinishing it. I have the new "safe" lock but, it's not yet installed so the old "not so safe" lock is on there now. I have searched the web for this style cedar chest but cannot find anything like it.
