History:
I received these Chocolate Cups as a gift from a special friend who had served in the US Embassy in various locations in Europe during World War II. He told me these were salvaged from some of the devastations of the war and he purchased them as genuine Meissen Porcelain.
Long Description and Pictures (jpg, gif, png):

A pair of Meissen Porcelain chocolate cups complete with lids and saucers (more like shallow bowls). Blue crossed swords of Saxony mark the bottoms of both cups and both saucers. Six different hand-painted scenes decorate these items. The principal color of the items is a clear, bright rose-pink. The knobs on each of the lids are white petaled roses outlined in gold. Each of the hand-painted scenes is encircled with gold detail. A fine gold line is painted along the edge of the cups, saucers and lids. The handles on the cups are also detailed with fine gold lines. These are certainly antiques; however, I have no idea if they are from the 18th, 19th or early 20th century.
