Long Description:

The wooden arms fold down allowing the seat to pull out into a bed.  We no longer have the mattress.  This is a beautiful couch that is the width of a love seat.  There are 2 tears in the leather back that could easily be repaired- otherwise the couch is in great condition.

Victorian era carved couch - rococco style?

Long Description:

This is, I think, a rococco couch. It is heavily carved with fruit, flowers and foliage. The frame is very sturdy, no cracks in the wood. This is not, the original upholstry and currently the fabric shows water stains and there are minor scratches on the trim but nothing that is damaging to the wood itself. I would like to have the style confirmed and when you might think this was produced and by whom.  I am trying to decide if I should sell this or get it recovered.  Thanks!

Long Description:

Bought from an antiques dealer who didnt know history of the item but was guessing it is a reproduction from the 1920s. Same day I bought it I found a sofa with an identical frame being sold on ebay, the seller is saying it is authentic victioran not a reproduction. ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160583491560&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT ) The wood on my sofa is in good condition with a few scuffs but otherwise nice. The woodwork is deep and detailed, very nice. The upholstery needs a little help, it has a little yellowing and the seller said he believed it had been reupholstered previously.
Hoping to determine whether this is a reproduction or authentic and what it might be worth. Thank you for any insight you may have, and thanks for taking a look.
