Long Description and Pictures (jpg, gif, png):

Wooden bar featuring carved Asian (Chinese?) panels. Overall shape is Western, art deco style, not Asian. Top lid opens up to reveal intricately carved wooden panel showing Asian fishing village and temple scene. Outer doors have panels showing figures (monks?) walking on paths and also Chinese-looking dragons. Lift-up tray in upper portion of bar. Doors swing out on front to reveal storage. Has curved/rounded doors in both of the front corners. Also has doors on each of the sides. Interior lined in green felt. Top of lid (when closed) shows damage in veneer from a steam iron. Some of the carved panels on the front are of a different color wood and are probably replacements. Would like to know rough idea of value.

Hand carved Chess board

Category:
Other
Medium - What is the item made out of (e.g. "silver")?:
wood
Condition:
Good
History:
I found this item in the attic of my new home.
Long Description and Pictures (jpg, gif, png):

A chess board made out of wood. If my sense of smell is right i'd say it's cedar. Every piece is delicately hand-carved. No pawn is alike. The board itself folds up. There are separate sliding doors underneath the board for storing the pieces. There are dragons on every corner of the board. The designs on the board seems to be chinese art.http://www.instappraisal.com/files/imagefield_thumbs/appraisal_images/140.JPG?1280432906

Vintage? Maybe Antique Chinese Robes

Category:
Vintage Textiles and Clothing
Medium - What is the item made out of (e.g. "silver")?:
Maybe Silk, silver & gold thread, Mirrors,
Weight:
Heavy
Condition:
Fair
History:
Magician Jack Gwynne used them in the 1940's-1950's and then they were passed on to my father-in-law, magician Jerry Conklin and he used them in his magic show. Not sure how old they really are.
Long Description and Pictures (jpg, gif, png):

I have 3 different robes like this that I would like someone to tell me their value, but I will pick just one. This is very heavy, not a lightweight silk Chinese robe. The inside reminds me of a burlap fabric. The robe has what I call wings on the back. It appears to have dragons on it with big green eyes. The robe has many many mirror pieces trimming it. It is also made with what someone told us was rare expensive silver & gold thread. There is embroidered trim on this, too. It is not in the best of condition, but it still has life left in it. The sleeves on this one have been folded under and hemmed with hand stitching. It is a really cool robe. We would like to know the origin, age, and value..as I said, I have three of them...all different.
