This medal is from the 'Great War For Civilisation 1914-1919'
It was obtained in Australia & the Private that was awared this medal lived in Annandale, Sydney Australia with his wife...he had one child who went to WW2 & died and therefore there are no known living relatives...
I do know that Australia did not produce their own medals for the Australian soldiers and so the Australian soldiers were awarded the British Medal alongside all soldiers who participated in WW1
I would like to know what value this would hold as I am looking to sell it

Re: WW1 British Medal
TheĀ Victory MedalĀ (also called theĀ Inter-Allied Victory Medal) is a United Kingdom campaign medal. The basic design and ribbon was also adopted by Belgium, Brazil, Cuba, Czechoslovakia, France, Greece, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Romania, Siam, Union of South Africa and the USA in accordance with the decision of the Inter-Allied Peace Conference at Versailles (a 'Winged Victory). A particular form of this historic Greek monument was chosen by each nation, except the nations in the Far East who issued the medal but with a different design. The dates of the war were in every case 1914 to 1918, except that of the British Empire, which gave the dates as illustrated (1914 to 1919).
The medal was issued to all those who received theĀ 1914 StarĀ or theĀ 1914-15 Star, and to most of those who were awarded theĀ British War MedalĀ - it was never awarded singly. These three medals were sometimes irreverently referred to asĀ Pip, Squeak and Wilfred
There are a lot of these on the internet for sale. $5.00 to $60.00 few higher. Your is missing a few things, Ribbon and Bars.I would put your's on the lower end of worth.Ā
$10.00 to $20.00. But get into a bidding war it could go for more..Now I wish you would have posted the name, I would have looked that up also. add this with a story of the person, who might have been A war hero.maybe a photo and frame it. It could sell for a lot more that way...Good Luck
