I picked up this lamp at a local antique store in Minnesota. I purchased it for only $8, as the owner of the shop was very flexible about prices for all but the rarest of items he had. It is only about 6 1/2 inches tall. The base is china or fine porcelain, I cannot tell which, as I am no expert in antiques. It looks as if the flowers on it are hand painted, but again, I cannot be sure. The globe of the lamp is glass and appears to be hand blown, judging by the slight bubbles and imperfections in it. Considering the price I paid for it, I highly doubt it is at all rare. This is of little importance to me, as I am not an experienced collector of such items. I merely love antiques because I have a great fondness for history. I am looking to know approximately how old this lamp is. I am very curious! If anyone could help me determine this, I would be much obliged.Â
