This enchanting picture of a mother and child is in an 8" x 10" oval with gold and ivory color matting. The gold color frame looks and feels like carved wood. The back was covered by brown paper which someone has torn to look underneath. There are small, rusty nails holding the backing and picture in place. There are two nails in the top corners with a clear plastic 'wire/line' for hanging. There are multiple labels and writing on the back: 1) Wildes & Company, Art Dealers, Eagleville, Conn. 2) The Panshanger Raphael, purchased in February 1914 - Highest priced painting in America. Recentlyt bought by P.A.B. Widener from Duveen Bros. for about $700,000. This famous Madonna measures only twenty-four by seventeen inches. 3) The Small Cowper Madonna, Painted about 1500 A.D., Artist Raphael Santi (Italian).

Long Description
History
Background is unknown. I am interested in knowing about the frame and whether it might be gilded and also what type of print it is. And of course, the value. It does have a label from an Art Dealer on the back, so it must have been appraised at one time.
