Long Description
Some of the research we've been able to find suggest possibly done by James Wilson Morrice. The research had said that when he was affiliated with John Napper he was referred to as J N Wilson. Is this possible? Please help as we have no idea of history or possible artist. Picture is in Excellent condition, needs good cleaning. Frame needs minor repairs. We've just found out that the card on the back is a business card of J.N Wilson. We've added new pics. If anyone knows anyhing about this gentleman we would love to know. We can't seem to find anything and it is a beautiful pic.
History

Re: Painting by J N Wilson
This is very nice painting, but unfortunately, it does not have anything to do with James Wilson Morrice (1865-1924), who never used the name "Wilson" to sign. But I am very intrigued by your mention of some research relating him to John Napper, as I have never read anything about it yet. Could you please give more information?
Thanks,

Re: Painting by J N Wilson
I just purchased a painting by the same artist at an estate. Same signature. Did you ever find anything out about this artist? Any info would be helpful.
Re: Painting by J N Wilson
I have been searching for this artist as well (J.N. Wilson).
I purchased a nice oil painting at a Nova Scotia auction (near Digby NS) in 2016. Â Mine is a seascape of entitled "New Jersey Coast - Hot Summer Night". Â Same signature and colour palette as the woodland scene. Â Original gilded frame.
Thank you for Digby Nova Scotia link, and the information posted.
Any other information found?
Regards, Josie
