This is a very nice bronze figural table lamp produced by the Kunst foundry in New York. Â It stands 26 1/2" to the top of the finial, 10" to the top of the bronze riser and 5 1/2" to the top of the bronze female figural. Â The base measures 5 3/4" wide by 5" deep.
The lamp is inscribed with "Kunst Foundry, N.Y." as shown in the photos. Â There is also a foundry mark or artist mark to the right of that notation. Â The top portion of the lamp appears to be agate and is encircled with a wonderfully detailed bronze band. Â
There are only signs of light surface wear but no breaks or gouges in the bronze or stone. Â It is in need of rewiring, of course, as evidenced by the photos.
I would appreciate any information you might have regarding:
1) appraisals of value
2) any information on which artist might have sculpted this piece as many are known to have been employed at the Kunst Foundry during the early years of the last century
3) and any information on who might be represented by the figural female on the base of the lamp
