Long Description
Finely embroidered Japanese Carp half immersed in pond, subtle shades of sage-green, silver and gray-brown, 14" x 24", brown wooden frame, under glass. Presumed to be silk.
History
Brought to U.S. between 1904 and 1941 by Rt. Rev. Charles S. Reifsnider, Episcopal minister and bishop to Anglican church of North Tokyo, Japan, and given to his friend, my great-grandfather, Episcopal minister of All Saints in Pasadena, CA.
