Long Description
I found a pair of small children's moccasins along with a leather doll in a box of old family things. I think they were early 20th century but could be a little before that. The moccasins have some small beading on top. You can see the doll was a Native American girl and there are remnants of the face, hair and necklace but most of features have worn off. The only thing written on it is "Garden of the Gods" on the back of the doll. Does anyone know anything about these or if they hold any value? Thanks!Â

Re: Early 20th century leather doll and moccasins
The Garden of the Gods red rock formations were created during a geological upheaval along a natural fault line millions of years ago. Archaeological evidence shows that prehistoric people visited Garden of the Gods about 1330 BC. At about 250 BC Native American people camped in the park. They are believed to have been attracted to wildlife and plant life in the area and used overhangs created by the rocks for shelter. There are many native peoples who have reported a connection to Garden of the Gods, including Ute, Comanche, Apache, Kiowa, Shoshone,Cheyenne, Pawnee and Lakota  people
I am thinking 1950's because of the stiching style. But here is the good and bad news.. I think the moccasins are real Native American Indian, but I think the Doll is Mexico.Â
