Ceramic Elephants

These ceramic elephants are said to be from a Buddist Temple. There is Asian writing on both sides of each elephant. Possibly the year?, but unsure. My dad was given these elephants at the end of the Vietnam War in 1972 by a Buddist Monk. They are sitting on a pedestal, although one of them is missing.
Not much more info that we are aware of.
