ok here is what i know about this piece it was given to my great great  aunts sister or sister in law by a preiest who left germany in ww2 and he saved this from a church that was bombed.  he gave this to my great great aunts sister for safe keeping, after she died my great aunt aquired this piece..  She wants to donate give it back to the Catholic Church but first she wants to get the Crucifix fixed and put back on the top first. she still has the Crucifix, im not sure exactly how it broke off..  We would really like to know more information about this piece and maybe the time period it was made and what it is made from, the bottom has what i beleive to be the Vatican Coat Of Arms or the Papal Coat Of Arms.  Out of curiosity i'd like to know the value also but most imortantly we would just like to know more information about this item..  My Great Great Aunt is Catholic and the Monstrance is a Sacred item to her, so she will definately not be selling this piece, it will be given back t the Church so please no inquiries about purchasing it from me. thanks.. cant wait to hear more info!!
