Long Description
This is a late 19th or early 20th century automaton carved from wood. Â I inherited it from my father who remembered it from his early childhood home (my father was born in 1907).
It is a little over 13" high, including the base. Â It contains some sort of music box. Â Originally when wound up the head would turn from side to side and the minstrel would whistle a tune. Â I don't know if that still works because I have never had the key.
It is in fairly good condition although there is some damage to one of the fingers.
