Long Description
This is a beautiful piece, in excellent condition with a rich history behind it. It is a crystal wine decanter, no chips or cracks/imperfections whatsoever, with a lovely piece of silver wrapped around the neck. The stopper is also in A+1 condition, finishing off the item's wonderful appearance.
The silver itself is hallmarked as sterling, has the anchor symbol also stamped to indicate it was a 'Birmingham Silver' piece, and the upper case L stamped sugests this piece is dated at 1783-One year before George III's reign began, and hence pre-dates the duty stamp by a year.
If anyone can appraise the item it would be much appreciated!
