Re: Antique Bronze and Tortoise Shell Table Lamp
This what's called a ``Slag Glass lamp``. Slag glass is a modern collectors' name for opaque glass with colored streaks, usually white and/or cream streaks, back when it was first made it was often called āmarble glassā Slag glass lamps of this type date from the first quarter of the 20th Century. The pedestals and shade frames are generally āPot metalā, and were originally plated or painted in bronze or copper tones. They were designed to resemble the far more expensive leaded glass lamps by Tiffany, Pairpoint and others. Values for these smaller examples peaked in the 1990's, but values have been in decline since then. Without a matchiing shade this one would go for under $150.00.
